When i compose a new message in outlook or reply it defaults to right align.
I can't find an option anywhere to change this. I've removed any stationary
i'm using but am really a bit stuck. Anyone any ideas how to make it default
to left align again?

look on the format text tab of the ribbon, in the paragraph section. Or
select the text and hit Ctrl+L.

Thanks. I know how to do it on a email by email basis, i'm looking for a way
to set it to default on the left hand side.

it should be default - find and delete the email template. Open it in word
and edit it, then save. It's called NormalEmail.dotm. paste
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates in the address bar of
windows explorer to get to it.
