Outlook 2007 - Program is trying to access e-mail address informat

I have a program that needs to synchronize with Outlook and since upgrading
to Office 2007, I am now receiving the message "A program is trying to access
e-mail address information stored in Outlook. If this is unexpected, click
Deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date......." What setting
do I need to change in Outlook 2007 so that I am no longer prompted with this
message?

That application then isn't talking to Outlook in a secure way and your
virus scanner isn't up-to-date or doesn't report its status to Windows.
Check for updates on your sync application and also on your anti-virus
solution.

If you really want to go past all this you can change the prompt behavior in
Tools-> Trust Center-> Programmatic Access

I used the option: Tools-> Trust Center-> Programmatic Access
but it still behaves in the same manner.

Actually, this option "partially" worked. I no longer get the warning UNTIL
I am using the other software to submit work orders. (I am using Help Desk
software that is open/running all day. Originally, I got the warning
constantly. Making the change you suggested stopped that warning. But now
when I go into the Help Desk software to submit/assign a work order, that
work order has to be e-mailed to a technician......this is when I get the
warning again. If I click ALLOW, the e-mail is sent, if I click DENY (just
to see what would happen), I get the following message:

"MAPI (Microsoft Mail API) is not installed on this machine"

Any suggestions?

The issue is with the application that is trying to use Outlook and not with
Outlook. The security requirements has been first introduced about 6 years
ago and properly written application won't use the security prompts. You
might want to check on updates for the applications you are using instead of
compromising Outlook security.
