Outlook 2007 Plain Text Blues

I changed Tools:Trust Center and turned off plain text. I can now see html
mail w/o photos which is a good thing. I can choose to view the content.

When it comes to plain text messages it strips line breaks but I can't read
the message nor when I reply can't see the message text or see my typing.
The page is blank.

My themes are ok. What is the issue?
