Outlook 2007 - I would like to MOVE all my 'SENT MESSAGES' automatically to
the 'INBOX'.
How do I accomplish this as 'RULES' do not allow me to 'MOVE' it but only
'MOVE A COPY' which is useless.
Any advise is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Disable the option to save sent items and the rule will become a move and
not a copy.

Thanks a lot Brian.

As advised, I have executed the rule.

Following are the issues for doing the same:

1. The mail appears in the INBOX even before it is sent out - it is
obviously not a 'move' of the sent message - still a copy.
2. It comes in as an unread email.
3. You cannot see the tracking in the email (for example, I send an email
with 'delivery notification'; but the same does not get tracked within the
'moved' email. This was not the case when it was retained in the sent folder.
4. Now when I compose a new email, I can't 'flag for self' - only for
recipients. This wasn't the case before.

Hope to have further advice on the above issues.

Sorry, I just don't understand what you're saying here. I'm reasonably sure
it won't get moved until it leaves the Outbox.

True.

3. You cannot see the tracking in the email (for example, I send an

Now you're adding requirements that you didn't mention before.

Sounds like you might be better off leaving the Sent Items default behavior
and using a Search Folder to agglomerate your Inbox and Sent Items into a
single view.

Dear Brian,

Thanks a million for such a quick response. Really appreciate your patience.

What I am saying is - a copy of the sent message is appearing in inbox (even
while the message is still in outbox).
Now you're adding requirements that you didn't mention before.

I agree that it may appear as a new requirement but it is normal to expect
the sent message to really behave exactly like it is meant to be irrespective
of where it is - whether retained in 'sent messages' or 'moved to inbox'.
Sounds like you might be better off leaving the Sent Items default behavior
and using a Search Folder to agglomerate your Inbox and Sent Items into a
single view.

This is a good suggestion - will explore this possibility and revert with my
observations.

I am also exploring the VBA code suggested by Sue to prompt me where to file
my sent items (ala Lotus Notes).

Thanks once again.
