outlook 2007 keeps open handle on volume

Just a FYI...

When attaching a file and sending it, Outlook 2007 maintains an open handle
on that volume the file was on.

In other words, say emailing a file from an encrypted container (drive x:)
then send it off, at end of day try to dismount container but its in use
because outlook has an open handle on it. Close outlook 2007, which frees
handle and container is dismounted cleanly.

Maybe someone didn't clean up a find handle or close a file?
 
It could be, but just to be sure it isn't caused by something else;
Can you repro this behavior in Outlook Safe Mode?
Do you have a virus scanner installed which integrates with Outlook?
