Outlook 2007 is slow to start up and freezes when used

When I start up Outlook 2007 it is noticeably slower than all other Microsoft
Office applications. When using it, it freezes when typing (then catches
up). It also seems to freeze the program on a regular basis

Running on a Dell machine? These machines come with "OutlookAddin" (by
Cyberlink) pre-installed. Remove it and your performance will be back.

Try decreasing the size of the pst file by removing the e-mail
attachments. There is a freeware application that does that:

Check also:

No, need for that. Outlook should perform just fine with a large pst-file
and >20.000 items in a folder when you have the Outlook performance update
installed;

Hello all!
Okay so I tried everything I could find on the web and in the discussion
boards and nada helped me at all. Finally I did one thing that seems to make
a HUGE difference for me. I uninstalled the SSQL server (likely installed
with the Small Business Edition w/Business Contact Manager) and Voila! .. so
far everything is working fantastic and my entire system is running fast
again! Check if you have this and if you don't need it - try that and see if
that makes a difference on your end as well.

I am having the same problem, also when I try to copy and paste an address
into a new email, I get frozen. Just started on 7/11/07 . Also had problems
with Outlook restarting and downloading same messages twice. I have Vista on
a new Dell Laptop. Very frustrating.

I have trouble with Outlook 2007 freezing whenever I access the "contacts". I
tried disabling the business contact manager add-in, but the system wouldn't
let me do that. I have no idea how to uninstall the ssql server. Does anyone
have suggestions? I have a Dell Dimension E520 with Outlook 2007 already
installed and Vista.
