outlook 2007 - exchange connection problems

J

jay

We just upgraded to vista business with outlook 2007 and suddenly we
are getting errors where every couple minutes a message will pop up
that says

"connection to microsoft exchange has been lost"
"connection to microsoft exchange has been restored"

We are a small network of 20 people. Only 3 of us are upgaded so far
and all 3 of us are getting the exact same error (not always at the
same time either). The clients still on windows xp/outlook 2003 are
not effected at all.

In the event log this is marked with event id: 26

Our vista firewall is set to allow microsoft outlook as an
"exception". Users run outlook as a user, not admin. IPv6 is disabled.

Any Ideas?

I too am getting these errors. We have a XPSP2 with outlook 2007 &
SBS2003 environment.

Here is an example from the log files:
This event has occurred 2 times from 09:50:34 Apr 30 2007 to
10:24:29 Apr 30 2007. Connection to Microsoft Exchange has been
restored.
This event has occurred 2 times from 09:50:30 Apr 30 2007 to
10:24:28 Apr 30 2007. Connection to Microsoft Exchange has been lost.
Outlook will restore the connection when possible.

I have pinged the exhange server non stop during these times with no
connectivity loss.

We weill also get outlook hanging during this periods...even tho we
have applied KB933493.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Does anyone know how to get verbose logging from Outlook...or a
connectivity checker of some kind?

Many Thanks
Josh
