Outlook 2007 email send failure

Guest

I have Vista Business and MS Office Enterprise 2007.
Using Outlook 2007 I can receive emails, although sometimes quite slowly (I
have an 8mb connection) but am unable to send emails.
If I remove this version of Office and replace it with Office 2003 I can
send and receive emails from Outlook 2003.
In each case the same programmes are installed on the computer with the same
settings.
I have Avast as the anti-virus checker but the settings are the same for
each version of Outlook
I had absolutely no problems at all with Vista RCA1 and Office 2007 BETA.
Has anybody else had this problem? Has anybody solved it?
Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is no error message.

At the bottom right hand corner of the screen there is the normal
send/receive completed message.

I have noticed in the past when I have sent a fairly large message in the
email that initially there is a message saying something like "preparing to
send/receive" before I actually get the send/receive complete.

Even though I get the message that the signal has been sent it remains in my
outbox.

If I telll send/receive to show progress the the normal diagram appears on
screen showing that everything is satisfactory and that the message(s) has
been sent but it (they) remain stubbornly in the outbox.

As I have said below if I replace Office 2007 with Office 2003 then
everything works perfectly.

If I remove the antivirus programme the same fault appears

What mail account type are you using?
Have you tried it with a clean mail profile already?

I am using msn.com

I can send to a hotmail.com address and, very occasionally to another but
not every time and then to one address only at a time.

I have tried a new profile with no improvement; the results are as I have
described above.

Thanks for all your trouble.
