Outlook 2007 Email Links Not Working due to restrictions.

I've seen several posts for this problem for Outlook 2003 users. I've tried
all the fixes but none of them work. Is there something different Outlook
2007 users have to do? When using Outlook 2007 if I click on a link in an
email. I get a pop-box that says, "This operation has been canceled due to
restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact you system
administrator." I am the system administrator and I have no idea what this
message means. How do I fix it so I can click on links in email? I'm running
Windows Vista, and Office 2007?

What are "all the fixes" you've tried. It's not an Outlook issue at all,
but an Internet Explorer issue. See this:

I've tried resetting my web settings and importing a new Registry Key. I
took a look at the link you provide and saw nothing I haven't tired but I
tried importing the Key provided and that didn't help either. Perhaps I
should also mention that I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate and latest update
of Explorer 7.0. I’m not sure what caused this problem but I think it may
have been caused by a fix made by a program called Registry Mechanic.

Any other ideas? Anyone?

I've already tied diabling my spyware programs. Could Window defender be
doing this? I can't seem to diable it. Perhaps I should also mention that
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate and latest update of Explore 7.0. Most
fixes I find are for Exploer 5 or 6 and XP.

I restored to a back-up copy of my registry and the problem is fixed. I
think Registry Mechanic did something to my registry that caused the issue.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

It wouldn't be the first time a mechanic caused more problems than he fixed.
Were I in your boat, I'd use system restore to roll back to a point before I
installed Registry Mechanic, then get myself a good registry backup program.
