Outlook 2007 Doesn't Close

C

Chuck

My Outlook 2007 will not completely close after I exit the application. I
usually have to go into the task manager and end task that way. It usually
has a large amount of member usage as well, usually 37K or so.

I have searched online and found some fixes with other applications in the
trusted center, deleted all them but I am still having the same issues as I
did before.

Only thing I can think of is that I have my pst file in a different location
than the default, but it has always been that way, so not sure anymore.

Anyone have any suggestions or fixes?

Chuck

Some common reasons why Outlook will not shut down completely when you click either the X or Exit:

1. PDA synchronization software with your PDA in the cradle.
2. WinFax Pro (especially 10.02 in Outlook 2003) - contact their support for an alleged fix.
3. Franklin-Covey Plan Plus!
4. COM Add-ins.
5. Mail reminder add-ins that keep a stub of Outlook open in the background to check for new mail and fire reminders.
6. Anti-virus/firewall programs that are set to scan incoming and outgoing mail.

No PDA, No win fax pro, No Franklin stuff, no mail reminder add ins, and I
have McAfee Virus stuff from Cox. Also, this is Windows Vista. This problem
was there before then left and now is back and not sure what changed.

Milly, I appreciate any help you can give.

Chuck, I had the very same issue and found that it was indeed the
antivirus/antispam software that I was using. No issues after doing the
un-install. Now I am looking for new software.

Any AV software, including what you were using, is probably sufficient
provided you do not include the email integration feature.
