I've ready every post and internet site for the last week about this problem.
Specifically, haveing to close down Outlook under Task Manager.
After thinking about and trying everty legitmate suggestion I saw, I came to
the conslusion that none worked... at least not for me.
I finally decided to uninstalled Office 2007 completely and every add-in
under "Programs > Programs and Features" in Vista Ultimate. That was long
and painful, but I had to get to the bottom of this problem.
I re-installed Office 2007, (still had the problem), then Business Contact
Manager, (still had the problem), and whatever add-in I had. (stil had the
problem)
No mind you, this is a brand new machine with nice components. My head was
ready to explode at this point.
The problem never happened in safe mode. I noticed that Outlook was not
downloading my messages when the program first booted up. You can see that
at the bottom right hand side of the screen. I also noticed that when I
opened Outlook 2007 in regular mode that I had (or the default installation)
had it set up to open in the "Outlook Today" folder. I think that's what
it's called. It's like simplified viewing of what's on all your scheduals.
I kind of put the B.S. together in my head and then decided to set Outlook
to open up by default in my "inbox". Can you believe THAT WAS IT!!! I do
not have the problem anymore and have been using Outlook for the laset few
days without incident.
This on is totally on Microsoft. They should seriously fix this!
Hope this helps anyone who needs it.
