Outlook 2007 does not close properly

I've ready every post and internet site for the last week about this problem.
Specifically, haveing to close down Outlook under Task Manager.

After thinking about and trying everty legitmate suggestion I saw, I came to
the conslusion that none worked... at least not for me.

I finally decided to uninstalled Office 2007 completely and every add-in
under "Programs > Programs and Features" in Vista Ultimate. That was long
and painful, but I had to get to the bottom of this problem.

I re-installed Office 2007, (still had the problem), then Business Contact
Manager, (still had the problem), and whatever add-in I had. (stil had the
problem)

No mind you, this is a brand new machine with nice components. My head was
ready to explode at this point.

The problem never happened in safe mode. I noticed that Outlook was not
downloading my messages when the program first booted up. You can see that
at the bottom right hand side of the screen. I also noticed that when I
opened Outlook 2007 in regular mode that I had (or the default installation)
had it set up to open in the "Outlook Today" folder. I think that's what
it's called. It's like simplified viewing of what's on all your scheduals.

I kind of put the B.S. together in my head and then decided to set Outlook
to open up by default in my "inbox". Can you believe THAT WAS IT!!! I do
not have the problem anymore and have been using Outlook for the laset few
days without incident.

This on is totally on Microsoft. They should seriously fix this!

Hope this helps anyone who needs it.

Have to admit don't exactly know what these switchs means.....

/cleanprofile
Removes invalid profile keys and re-creates default registry keys where
applicable.

/firstrun
Starts Outlook as if it were run for the first time

Also, since I basically spent a huge amount on time on this. I had another
machine with basically the same components. Again, high end, name brand
stuff. Installed Vista OS, Basic programs, Adobe, Accounting stuff, and
Office 2007 with all updates.... You get the picture, and BAM, can you
believe it does the same thing on a different brand new machine? Anyway,
remedied that agian by telling Outlook to go into Inbox on startup of Outlook
2007. I can't be the only one with this much bad luck, it has to be the
program.....

I am having this problem also. Running Windows XP SP3. Office 2007, fully updated. Had a user in our company that had a bad harddrive. Took one of our systems that we had in storage out (was working fine when pulled) updated it and now has the problem. Thought that maybe was something that was already on the drive, so I got another system and did a clean install of windows XP Pro, all updates and Office 2007 with all updates. When the email opens, it takes a little longer than it should seeing as the user keeps her mailbox extremely clean. Is configured to pull messages from exchange server. If I try to go in and check the plug-ins like other people are saying is causing the problem it looks up completely. Just beeps no matter what I click on and have to hard boot the system to get out of it. Never even make it to the add-ins tab....any ideas?
