Outlook 2007 does not close on exit

IanB

Hi,

I have Outlook 2007 on my Samsung laptop - originally the Trial version but
now running the full Enterprise version of the program - but when I exit,
Outlook does not close. How do I know? Email notifications continue to appear
in the bottom right-hand corner even after I have closed the program.

What is the problem? I thought that, having uninstalled the tiral version
and replacing it with the full version what had been an annoying problem did
not disappear. On my desktop computer I also have Outlook 2007 - and it
closes cleanly. The only difference is the fact that the trial version on the
laptop included Business Contact Manager. Could that be the problem?

BCM could be the problem, but check these things first:

Could be, most likely cause is a add on
If you bring up Task Manager you can kill any outlook.exe proccess

Thanks, DL, I worked that one out myself but it doesn't answer the problem
directly!

Thanks, Brian - I think BCM may be the problem, too. I'll try disabling it as
an add-in, first, before uninstalling it!

Hi Ian,

I had the same problem. I couldn't switch between profiles because Outlook
wasn't exiting. I had a great reply from someone that really helped and I
think could help you. The thread of replies is posted in Install and
Configure section. My Subject "Can't switch between profiles in Outlook" if
you need to search for it. For me it was Skype that was stopping Outlook from
exiting.

good luck....i hope you find the thread and it helps

Thanks, Diane - I had Skype installed, too! I couldn't "unclick" the Outlook
Contacts entry, at first, but loading Outlook allowed me to diable this
setting, so I hope, now, the problem is solved!

Hello, i am new to this forum and was led here trying to fix this problem.

I read this post as i was also looking to resolve why outlook still shows as a running process in task manager when closed. I have tried several different things without success until the mention of Skype in the thread.

When i unticked the 'show outlook contacts' option on the view tab and closed outlook, i checked task manager and outlook was no longer running.

Problem solved

Thanks
