Outlook 2007 crashes and reloads

4 days of torment, searching for a resolution to this one. Microsoft Office
Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience.
Problem still exists in 'outlook.exe /safe.'

Error signature is as follows:
AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 12.0.6316.5000 AppStamp:4833a470
ModName: msvcr80.dll ModVer: 8.0.50727.3053 ModStamp: 4889d619
fDebug: 0 Offset: 0001537a

Someone mentioned it might be caused by manifest file in 'Office 12' folder,
however deleting this didn't work either.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Was the data file (pst) created with outlook 2007, or was it a pst from an
earlier version?

The PST file was originally created in Outlook 2003, but its been working fine for 10 months in Outlook 2007.

Thanks for your help.

I have a user in the office with this same issue. She probably has to
attempt to sign in a dozen times before Outlook will load without crashing...
I read that certain add-ins could be the cause - I disabled them all to no
avail. Also running a repair on the mailbox did nothing. The internet is
rife with forums explaining this very problem and none seem to have the
solution. If someone from Microsoft could help with this there would be many
more happy Outlook users in the world...

Thanks for your response. I had to uninstall Outlook 2007 and install Outlook 2003 and its working fine, but I'd like to go back up Outlook 2007, so I'll try an upgrade at some stage on Friday. I'll let you know if the old problem returns.
