Outlook 2007 - Cannot Back Up PST

Hi! - I've been perusing the forum and reading up on issues along this line
others have had, but not seen this particular version of the problem crop up!
I've just switched over from Outlook Express to Outlook 2007. I managed to
import all the Express files just fine, and everything seems to work
perfectly. When I used Express, I backed up all the folders periodically by
dragging 'n' dropping them to external hard drives, and had no problem. In
investigating how to do that with Outlook 2007, I found two solutions: (1)
use the Personal Folder Backup utility, or (2) drag 'n' drop the relevant
..pst file to the hard drive. However, in both cases, I'm having the same
issue: both options tell me that there isn't enough room on the external
drive to back up the file. This cannot be correct -- the file is listed as
being only about 4.2 GB, and the external drive I'm trying to back it up to
has over 31 GB of free space! Any clue as to what's going on here? Any help
would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

In which format is the file system of your external hard disk?
My guess is that you are using FAT32. In that case your maximum file size is
4GB. Convert the file system to NTFS.
