am using Outlook 2007 on Vista Home Premium SP1. Any attachments sent are
not being received by people using Outlook Express on Win XP, although it
works OK with Outlook 2003 on XP!
I therefore have to use Windows Mail to send attachments. I don't know where
the problem is - XP, VIsa or Outlook. Any help muchy appreciated. Thank you.

Change your default email format from Microsoft Rich Text (RTF) to either
HTML or Plain Text. RTF is a format that only Outlook understands, all
other email clients either get an attachment named "Winmail.DAT" which they
can't open, or no attachment at all:

My default email format is HTML, and the email contact that I've been sending
to has the "send plain text only" setting. But every email that I forward to
him with .jpg or .pdf or .doc files arrives with winmail.dat attachments that
he cannot read. Any suggestions about what else I should be checking?

Thank you,
Mary Breden
