Hi I've loaded Office 2007 and I can't get Outlook Address book to see
Contacts. I've tried to check the box in contacts to show in address book but
it's greyed out. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi I'm sorry I don't know whether or not I use exchenge. Can you help me
find out?

Thanks for your help

Kind regards

If I understand your question correctly, try "Tools", "Address Book",
"Tools", "Options" and select Contacts from the drop down window.

Ken

FILE / DATAFILE MANAGEMENT and double-click the name of your mailbox
If you have an "Exchange" Window opening, you're on Exchange
Access the second tab "ADVANCED" of this window and make sure the checkbox
"Use Exchange Cached Mode" in UNchecked.
Close all windows and relaunch outlookl

It looks like I don't use exchange - the window that opens is not exchange
and does not have the options you suggest.

Thanks for your help

Kind regards

Are you using Vista? Did you use the transfer utility to move information and settings to a new machine? If so, then your mail profile is corrupt and can't be repaired. The solution is to create a new mail profile for Outlook.

If that's not the scenario, then try removing the Outlook Address Book service and adding it back in. Tools | Account Settings.

Thank you veru much. It was as you said I used the Vista Transfer and the
files were corrupt. The Microsoft Technicians talked me through creting an
new profile.

Thanks for your help

I am having the same problems. I cannot remove the Outlook Address Book
service: outlook won't allow me to delete it/"remove" is grayed out.

How do I create a new mail profile in outlook?

Brill... many thnkas that worked a treat; OK I had a lot of help from my 13yr
old but sorted it out and now works 100% . Had been going round in circles
for weeks.
