Outlook 2007- adding mail servers errors

I'm trying to add my mail server to outlook and each time I do it gives an
error that it can't find an encrypted connection so I go to unencrypted and
it also dosen't work. So I called my ISP provider they say thier server is ok
and that I need to call microsoft and ask them. So if any suggestions of what
might be doing this please send. Thanks alot.

What kind of mail server are you trying to add? POP3? IMAP? Post the steps you have taken to attempt to add your server. What you describe sounds like you are trying to add an Exchange server, which you clearly are NOT using. Did you use your ISP's help page on how to install your mail account?
