Outlook 2003

David Gilder

I have the following setup.
Windows XP sp3 and all updates
Office 2003 with all updates. I use Excell and Word for reports.

I have always used Outlook Express for email however I use
Outlook 2003 for all my Appointments, Contacts and Tasks.
Really like an old written diary.

I would like to move my email to Outlook. I would like to copy across
all folders and the email in them without the lose of any records.

I am aware that I have to continue using Outlook Express for Newsgroups
such as this one.

I realise that this has probably been asked and answered many times
before but a step in the correct direction would be appreciated. I have a
"working" knowledge of Hardware and software.

Any help from the group would be most appreciated.

Quite simple. In Outlook EXPRESS, do File-Export-Messages
In Outlook do File-Import-Internet Mail and Addresses, UNCHECK Messages, and
import the OE addressbook.

That's all there is to it!

I'm going to add to what Gordon said. If you have more than one identity in
Outlook Express, you must make a decision as to whether you want to keep the
data separate in Outlook similar to how it is in Outlook Express or merge it
all into one set of folders in Outlook. Let us know if you have multiple
identities and, if so, which choice you would make.

Thank you Gordon, Thank you Brian

Brian I only have one identity so all OK
The transfer went over with no problems, I just follow the instructions.
As a furher question, what is the advatage of more than one identity.
I could never quite understand why?

Regards and thanks again David Gilder

It allows more than one person to use Outlook Express and keep each person's
mail separate. It also allows one person to have multiple accounts and to
keep each account's mail separate from the other accounts mail.
