Outlook 2003

My company uses Outlook 2003 and an Exchange server. Before we switched to
the Exchange server I had rules set up to move contacts to folders with their
name. Now that we have exchange I try to add the rules and after I have
added a bunch I start getting the following error. "One of more rules could
not be uploaded to Exchange server and have been deactivated. This could be
because some of the parameters are not supported or there is insufficient
space to store all your rules."

Is there a way to make my outlook keep the rules on my local pc and not go
to the Exchange server to be stored, like it did before we switched to
Exchange?

Thanks

No. if you have an Exchange account, then Exchange will hold the rules.
You cannot change the storage space for rules in Exchange 2003 and earlier.
Exchange 200x has a 32 K character per mailbox limit on rules space.
Exchange 2007 has a 64 K character per mailbox limit, but that can be
increased to 256 K characters. Try reducing the number of rules you have by
combining them, if at all possible.

That is what I was afraid of. Maybe they will go to Exchange 2007 someday.
