the installation of office 2003 sbe places microsoft outlook, program file,
on the desktop. how do I remove this program from the desktop and place it
elsewere.

The icon on the desktop should only be a special shortcut not the program
file itself. Where do you want to put the shortcut, by the way?

for some reason, during the installation of office 2003, the install program
places the "outlook program" (not a shortcut) on the desktop. I can't drag
and drop it off the desktop. Right clicking the icon doesn't offer an option
to send it elsewere.

thank you, brian. For the heck of it; can you tell me why this occurs?

Why what occurs? Why you get a desktop icon? I supposed because the
developers wanted to give you convenient access to your mail profile without
having to run Outlook or open Control Panel.
