I have created a desktop for my wife but when I try and set up her
mail in Outlook I get the error "unable to open default e-mail
folders
Any help
Thanks

No, just from running Outlook and trying to set up a new e-mail, how
do I do that from the mail applet?
Thanks for your quick reply

Control Panel > Mail Applet
Create Profile, Data File and Accounts for your wife
Set OL to prompt for the profile

Should this be done logged in under her desktop and di I create
someting under each of the three areas and what do I name them?
Thanks for all your help

In Her desktop
Create Profile, named whatever eg 'Pats'
If the profile setup shows your Profile also, set it to prompt for the
profile
Create data file
Set up account(s) - and test them

I'm assuming 'she' has a seperate email account to 'you', ie username and
password are different to yours

When I try and create a data file it will not let me, there is noting
there to add. Any idea why

In the mail applet;
Show profiles Btn
It shows a profile? and you added one for 'Her'?
Then selected that profile, properties?

Yes then it shows e-mail and data file buttons and if I click on data
files and go to add there is nothing there to add?

It doesn't say "Outlook Personal Folders File"?

When I highlight her name and click prperties and then click data
files and then click add the personal data files box is empty

Then click Add at that point and you'll be given a chance to create a new
PST. The Add button is below "Open Folder" and above "Remove".

That brings up "types of storage" and there is nothing there?

That's where you should see "Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst)"
If this were my PC, I'd be starting over from scratch with the Office
installation.

This was a fresh install, I reformatted and reinstalled everything

Are both accounts Administrator accounts (not that that should be required)?
