Outlook 2003/Word XP - Address Book problem

Usually, when you want to insert an address into a Word
document, the address book searches by the last name.
Ours searches by the first name. When we change this in
Outlook, we can no longer open the address book in Word.
Word will crash and close.

How can we change the "file as" to Last Name, First Name
in Outlook with out crashing Word?

You mean you are using different versions of Outlook and Word?
You can't do that.
