Outlook 2003 won't recognize a .pst file

I have imported successfully 4 .pst files, but the fifth won't load. When I
try it says that it is not a .pst file?
 
PST file maybe corruopt try running scanpst against it to see if it fixes
it.
 
scanpst could not recognize the file, 'no information can be recovered' is
the message. Sounds very alarming... anything else that might aid? It's a
relatively large file - 600MB with some 5000 entries
