Outlook 2003 Won't Delete After X Days

I recently selected the Leave Messages on Server option so I would be able to
access my POP3 mail on my phone. I also selected the option to Remove from
Server after 10 Days to avoid my mailbox getting to be a massive size.
However, this doesn't seem to be working. I recently looked at my mail on the
server and I still have mail from over a month ago on there.

As a second, but related question...I get a lot of spam email, so I set up a
filter to permanently delete it, however this will not delete the mail off of
the server either. I've tried everything I can think of and looked around the
net for a couple of hours with no success. I would appreciate any help!

Do you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook? Disable this
option and try again (it might take 10 days before you notice the change
unless you set it to 1 day or so to test it directly).

No, I don't have a virus scanner installed at all so I don't know what could
be interfering. This problem is actually occurring on two computers here at
the office, both with Outlook 2003 (Outlook 2000 seems to work just fine) so
I was wondering if it might just be a configuration issue.

Tried it with a new mail profile already? Even if it was just for testing.
