Outlook 2003: Generic mailbox: deletions

At work, we have a generic mailbox in Outlook (we are using an
Exchange server) for our section. Individuals also have their own e-
mail addresses. While someone is logged on to the network as
themselves, they can access the generic mailbox. However, when they
delete a message from the generic mailbox, it goes into their own
Deleted Items folder, not the generic mailbox's deleted items folder.
This means if we suspect an item may have been deleted in error, or
just want to check a message that has been deleted, we have to play
"hunt the message" around the deleted items folders of everyone who
may have accessed the generic mailbox.

Is there a setting in Outlook, or on the Exchange server for the
generic mailbox concerned, where someone accessing the generic mailbox
can delete an item, and it will go to the generic mailbox's deleted
items folder, not their own?

AFAIK, nope.

You could probably have a plugin written to move stuff, or just have people
use OWA to access the shared mailbox.

That looks exactly what I am looking for! Thank you very much for
this information.
