Outlook 2003 with CPU Usage at 100%

When Outlook is open, its process (outlook.exe) consumes all my CPU. I am
current with Microsoft Office updates. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,
Ken

I'm using Symantec antivirus with no add-ins. I paid Microsoft for a support
call and after looking at a couple if things (including looking at add-ins
and setting up a new Windows user), they suggested a reinstall. Hope to try
it this week, but I'm not very hopeful because this problem happened within
two weeks of my initial installation.

In r3eading else where I saw the recommendation to try the inbox repair tool
scanpst.exe and to try a repair install 9 add remove programs - choose change
then repair - because im frustrated I tried BOTH and since then (last night)
I havent seen the CPU jump back up - My inbox had some issues that were
repaired

Hope this helps

I neglected to mention that step. I tried it early on (before calling
Microsoft), but it didn't fix my problem.

As it turns out it didnt help my problem either - just checked and CPU is
back to 100%

This is rediculous

I also had a problem getting the archive function to work. Once I used the
Inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) to fix the error which caused my archiving
problem, my CPU usage problem also went away. I don't understand why it
worked this time when it didn't work before, but at least I can work again.
