I'm trying to use the outlook view control in outlook 2003 and I receive an
error message when I try to use the
"ovctl1.folder = <folder name>" property. The error message is "Method
'Folder' of object 'IOVCtl' failed". Whatever I try, I cannot use the folder
property under outlook 2003. Any ideas?

Thanks!

What's a typical value you've used for the folder name?

actually I just realized that it's much more then the folder property. I
also get this error message when I try to set the view and namespace
properties. I open the same vb project in win2k+outlook2k and there is no
problem...I guess it's something with the winxp or outlook 2003?

If the OVC is being used in a VB application, you'll need to use code behind a VB form or script in an HTML page to set the View, instead of params. And the value for Folder needs to be the path to the folder or the name of the folder if it's a default folder. See http://www.slipstick.com/dev/formcontrols.htm#ovc for other OVC issues.
