Outlook 2003 text effects don't work

When creating an e-mail if I select text and then Format>Font>Text Effects
and apply an effect such as "Sparkle Text" it shows nicely in my message but
doesn't show for the recipient.
What's up? Any ideas?
 
some features will only work with certain clients or are not supported in
HTML email.
 
I believe you...since it clearly doesn't work.
My only question is-- why is the option even there?
If Outlook itself doesn't support this feature what does?
And what other kind of email is there other than HTML (Other than plain text)?
