Outlook 2003 - Subject View

Im running Windows XP and Office 2003. When I select an
email message and then click on the "Subject" column, it
sorts them by subject but doesnt leave the original email
I selected in view highlighted. This wasnt a problem in
Office XP? Any ideas??

what view are you using and how to you change the sorting? Using the default
view, when I click on the field names and choose subject, it sorts by
subject and leaves it selected. When I close the preview pane and sort by
any field, it leaves it selected.

Diane- First of all thanks alot for responding to my post.
I feel privledged that the author of Teach yourself
Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours replied to me. Thank you very
much.

This is the message I received from the user: (it is set
up as default view).

I am having a problem with Outlook and sorting messages.

When I click on a message, and then click on the "Subject"
bar, it sorts by subject but does not keep the highlighted
message on screen -- instead it gives me the first message
(in this case, one with no subject). With Outlook XP, this
didn't happen. (And sometimes it does not on this one!)

Any ideas how I can get the system to work "properly"?
