Outlook 2003 SP1 - Built-in Junk filter works before Rule

E

ExcuseMe

Hi,

A few days ago I installed SP1 for Outlook 2003. After using it for a while,
I noticed that Outlook 2003 was sending more and more of my legitimate mail
to the Junk E-mail folder. This occurred even when I had a rule set up to
move that message to a personal folder. For instance, I receive emails from
imdb.com . I have a rule set up to move any messages with imdb.com in the
sender's address to a personal folder called IMDB.

Under Outlook 2003 without SP1, this rule would always catch the imdb.com
email and send it to the IMDB folder.

Under Outlook 2003 with SP1, Outlook 2003's Junk E-mail rules move this
email directly into the Junk E-mail folder. If I mark the email as "Not
Junk", moving it back into the Inbox, then run my IMDB rule again, the email
is correctly moved into the IMDB folder.

In both cases, I'm using the High setting for Junk E-mail.

This problem is very disconcerting, since many of my good emails are now
being identified as Junk. As a workaround, I have turned off the Junk E-mail
filters in Outlook 2003, but I really want to use its Junk E-mail filtering,
or a 3rd party tool; I can't put up with having most of my good email marked
as junk.

Is there some setting implemented in Outlook 2003 SP1 that I might not have
set correctly? If this is a known bug with SP1, is there a timeframe when
this problem will be fixed? Is there another Junk email add-on that I can
use in the meantime with Outlook 2003 (I'm a user of Mailwasher, but I
prefer to do all the junk email indentifying in the email application
itself)?

Thanks for reading.

So I guess the silence means that there's no workaround other that what I'm
doing :(
