Club member running Windows Vista Home Premium on a dual boot iMac. Windows
2003 was uninstalled and reinstalled. Fixed nothing.

Now I arrive on the scene.
1. I installed Service Pack 3
2. Windows Update installed 12 "Important" updates, mostly for Office.
3. I tried running Outlook in safe mode. No dice.
4. I have heard that iTunes could be a problem. Uninstalled iTunes. What the
hey, I also uninstalled QuickTime. Rebooted. No dice.
5. I turned off e-mail scanning by free AVG. Still no dice.

Diane,
No, I didn't create a new profile.

I stated that I had tried in safe mode (item #3 in my original post)
What is the likelyhood that a new profile would make a difference - the
program opens and downloads 8 or 10 messages before the crash?

It's hard to say if it will help or not - you can make a new profile to
test - you don't need to delete the current profile.

Does it keep downloading the same messages? Can you online and delete those
8 -10?

I will have to call and make an appointment visit the member's home to try
again. However, I believe that it is removing the messages from the server.

Diane,

It does remove the messages from the server. Only one message arrived this
morning. I logged on to the Web interface to the e-mail and all messages had
been removed.

As long as the dialog box for creating a new profile was open Outlook stayed
open. As soon as it was closed, Outlook stopped working.

I had uninstalled iTunes yesterday with no change.

I downloaded and installed the latest from Apple and it made no change.

Try renaming the SRS file for the profile - if the problem is with the
send/receive, it could be a corrupt send/receive file causing it to crash.
(its at %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook)

It also could be a corrupt navigation pane since it seems to happen as soon
as outlook opens - start outlook with the /resetnavpane switch.
