Outlook 2003 Rules

C

Chris Miller

I've got Office System 2003. I use Outlook to check about 5 POP accounts
right now. I've setup rules as follows, and in this order:

1) Move messages w/ ****SPAM**** in subject to Junk E-mail folder. (SPAM
gets marked like that by my spam detector)

2) Move Sobig messages to Junk E-mail folder (I am still getting slammed by
Sobig, and I'm narrowing it down w/ this filter by subject line)

3) Forum A (Move messages from Forum A to a special folder under my Inbox)

4) E-mail Account A (Move messages sent to this address to a special folder
under my inbox)

5) E-mail Account B (Move messages sent to this address to a special folder
under my inbox)

.....

Now, here's what's happening. When I get messages marked as SPAM, they get
put in E-mail Account A's box. When I get Sobig messages, they go in the
right place (Junk E-mail). When I get Forum A messages, a copy gets put in
E-mail Account A's box (b/c those messages are sent to E-mail Account A, but
it should get caught by rule 3, not 4). Messages from Forum A also get
COPIED to the right palce (the special folder for them). So everytime I get
a message from the forum, it gets dupilicated in 2 places. E-mail for
Account B goes in the right place.

I guess my real question is, when Outlook uses these rules, if it finds a
match at rule 3, does it keep going after taking whatever action rule 3
states? That would seem very stupid if it does....
