Outlook 2003: rules triggered but very slowly

Hello,

At my office, I used, until now, Outlook 2000 on a PC with Windows
2000.
Now, this PC has been replaced and I have a new one with Windows XP
SP2 and Office 2003, so Outlook 2003 also (no SP1 no SP2 installed for
Office).

I am connected on an Exchange server. I have create a Personal folders
file (PST). I have configured my Outlook profile in order to deliver
the messages in the PST file. Then, basically, I have created several
folders in my PST in order to classify the messages by sender when
they arrived. I have defined several rules (about 10) to move the
mails when they arrived in function of the sender. So the rules are
client rules very simple.

The rules are executed correctly BUT "slowly". Indeed, when the
messages are received, they are delivered in the "local" incomming box
of the PST but there is a delay varying from 20 to 40 seconds before
the rules are triggered and executed !! On my old PC with the old
Outlook 2000, I use it similarly and the rules were triggered
immediately after the reception of the mails !

So : is there a way for the rules to be executed more quickly with
Outlook 2003 ?? any parameters somewhere ?!

Thank you for your help !

Good evening

Steve

Hello Diane,

Thank you for answering me. Well, I already do not use the cache mode
and not ost files. My Outlook 2003 is configured with the cache mode
disabled and with a PST file. And the rules are executed only 20 to 50
seconds after the emails are delivered by the exchange server in the
"local" incomming box of my PST :-(

Any other idea ?!

Thank you for your help. Sorry for my late answer but I live in France
and can only access to the newsgroups the evening.
