Outlook 2003 recipient limitations

Guest

We are using Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003 and are trying to send an email
to about 10,000 recipients (these are mass mailings that will go out every
month or so). We currently use Groupwise and the Groupwise client, which
have no limitations.

It seems that Outlook is only allowing us to send to about 1,300 at a time.

Can you tell me if there are any limitations on the amount of recipients
that you can send to using Outlook 2003 SP2?

Thanks

I was told that Outlook wouldn't allow any more entries in the "To" field,
after about 1,400.

Is there an "Outlook" limit on number of recipients? They host there own
Exchange 2003 email server.

OK, that does make sense. Outlook fields do have character limits. But
other than that there are no limits on the number of recipients. You might
want to try doing a mail merge with Word or you can use one of the many 3rd
party mass mailing programs available. Look at the following pages for
further information:

Generally the internet service provider makes those limitations, not Outlook.
What indications do you have that it might be an Outlook problem?
