Outlook 2003 Reading Pane

Is there a way to turn off the Reading Pane so that it doesn't come up by
default each time I create a new MAPI profile?
I'm an Exchange administrator and frequently have to open other peoples
mailboxes and it really annoys me that I have to turn it off each time.

You can try customizing your view options or running a command line swith /no previews.

Thanks for that.
I have to confess that I must have overlooked the /nopreview switch as I had
already looked at the various switches here:
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/commandlines.htm

Interestingly the /nopreview switch is also meant to remove the option from
the view menu, but it's still there, so I'm happy.

I understand, it is not a common switch used. It is good to know it is there and to know the options you have to address this need.
