Outlook 2003 Public Folder Calendar View Issue

B

Bret

Situation--Can't see a public folder calendar via the
calendar view in Outlook 2003. Exchange 2003.

When public folder is selected in the Open a Shared
Calendar, we get the message 'The server mailbox cannot be
opened because this address book entry is not a mail user.'

Is OUtlook 2003 capable of opening a non-user mailbox in
the calendar view? If so, how do I enable it? If not,
does anyone have a workaround that would allow information
to be 'synced' between a public folder and
a 'CompanyCalendar' user so that appointments made on one
will transfer to the other and be auto-accepted?

No matter how creative I've been, I keep running into the
limitation that Public Folders cannot be given rights.

Thank You

You need to open public folders through the Folder List. If you add them to
Public Folders\Favorites, they should appear on the My Calendars list.

Thank You, Sue. That worked.

Is this a widely known 'feature'?(What I'm really asking
is, should I feel like an idiot for not knowing about
this?)

Thanks again

Since the user interface in Outlook 2003 is still quite new, I don't think
you have any reason to feel ignorant.
