Outlook 2003 POP password prompting

Hi,

I used the Files and Setting Wizard to move from a Win 2K system to a new
Win XP Home computer. When I attempted to run Outlook 2003 to check email, I
was prompted for the POP account password.

I found article 290684 and followed its instructions. (Note that the
instructions for XP are not consistent with the instructions for 2000 or NT
in that it starts by saying run regedit and not regedt32).

The first time I followed the procedure, it did not work so I restored the
registry key. The second time I followed the procedure I used regedt32 to
save the registry key before making any changes. The procedure still did not
work.

Next, I deleted the email account definition and recreated it. When I test
it via the Test button in the wizard, it appears to have worked. However
when I run Outlook I am still prompted for the password.

What else can I do?
Thanks.

I found the solution to the problem on another thread:
http://www.newmediamusings.com/blog/2003/05/solution_to_ent.html

This thread referenced the page:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/usershellfolders.htm

Apparently when I used the Files and Transfer Wizard to move information to
the new PC it clobbered the values in the User Shell Folders key except for
the Local Appdata value. (I looked at an account on the same new pc that did
not have any settings transferred and it had several values defined in its
User Shell Folders key).
Once I re-entered the Shell Folder definitions, Outlook was able to save its
POP3 password. The process described in 290684 was not necessary.
