Outlook 2003 Outbox-Send

I have Outlook 2003. I do not want to send my e-mails immediately, so have
taken the check mark out of the box in Mail Setup--Send Immediately. My
e-mail then goes to the Outbox. However, later when I want to send the
e-mail, it will not send. I type the e-mail; click send which puts it in the
Outbox; go back to the InBox folder(or someother folder under MAIL); go to
the Outbox again and click the "Send/Receive" tab on the main tool bar....but
none of the e-mails in the Outbox send. I have tried opening each pending
e-mail and then clicking the "send" in that particular e-mail -- still
doesn't work. I have also tried just hi-liting all or each e-mail and
clicking Send/Receive in the main tool bar -- still doesn't send. I would
appreciate any help someone can give me, please. I have Windows XP. Thank
you! ConTay3

If you can never send an email, your SMTP server setting is incorrect in your
acct. Your ISP will give you the correct setting. You do not go back to the
Outbox to send. Stay in the Inbox and press Send/Rec and the mail will be
sent. If you go back to Outbox and click on the email, it cannot be sent
until you press Send (in the email) again. The only time you go to the Outbox
is to remove or change an email. Remember, too--Outlook is for POP mail, not
web mail.

Mary, thanks for the advice -- I will try that. I can send e-mails if I have
the Send Immeidately...checked in the Mail Setup but just not when I don't
have it checked and the mail goes into Outbox. And, what do you
mean....Outlook is for POP mail, not Web mail? I'm a layman and do not know
much about all this. Thanks again and look forward to hearing from you
again. ConTay3
