Hi there....

I have Outlook 2003 and I don't have the "General" tab like the instructions
for using "sounds" suggests. here is microsofts instructions:
To start using Office Sounds

On the Tools menu, click Options.
In the Options dialog box, click the General tab, select the Provide
feedback with sound check box, and then click OK.
To select or clear specific sounds
So a general tab isn't found to change the sound settings and alerts.
Thanks for any help.

Those instructions apply to other Office programs like Word and Excel --
perhaps you accidentally were looking in Word help rather than Outlook help.

You can find the "Provide feedback with sound" option in Outlook via Tools |
Options | Other tab | Advanced Options.
