Every time I open Outlook 2003, the MSN Instant Messenger
opens (version 4.7) I do not want the Messenger running,
nor do I use it, I do not see it in add/remove programs
to remove, so how can I prevent it from executing if
anything?

TIA

Go to tools/options uncheck the box that says "run msn
messenger when outlook starts" or something like that.
This will keep msn messenger from running. I am
currently working on a computer that does not have
outlook, but my other computer does and I know the
procedure is close to that. Sorry I couldn't be more
detailed.

Thanks Ken I found it in Messenger, I unchecked Run
Messenger in the background now it does not appear in the
system tray.

you will find it in documents and settings! go to search from the start bar
and search for messenger.
