I have just installed Office Professional 2003 on A Vista Ultimate system and
once more am in the throes of trying to get my Outlook to work correctly? I
assumed that upgrading from Outlook 2002 would be somewhat painless. I should
have known better!
My present problem is that I can receive O.K. but when sending messages they
become stuck in the Outbox and are never sent?
I see this problem has been around for a time and seems to be recurring? I
have tried the solutions I could find from other sources in this discussioin
group and also followed Diane Poremsky recommendations for this problem, from
her Microsoft Office Outlook writeup, specifically for Outlook 2003.(see the
following link).

ALL TO NO AVAIL !!
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would sure like to get Outlook 2003
working correctly so I can get on with my life. Oh, I have installed all the
updates currently available. Hopefully, that's not part of my problem??
Thanks, in advance, for your consideration.

Problem Solved -- My error in setup. I assumed that the following option was
to tell the program to send immediately without the chance for review so I
overlooked it. Instead, it merely tells the program to send when the
Send/Receive button is activated by the operator. Why one has to select this
option beats me. Seems as if it should be automatic. --- Whatever. Anyhow,
for those of you who run into this problem as I did following is the
explanation that solved it for me.

"You might have specified that messages not be sent until the next
send/receive. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Setup
tab. Select the Send immediately when connected check box so that a message
is sent when you click Send in the message. If you connect by using a LAN
(LAN: A computer network technology designed to connect computers separated
by a short distance. A local area network (LAN) can be connected to the
Internet and can also be configured as an intranet.), messages are sent in
the background. If you use a dial-up networking connection, Outlook tries to
connect to the server (server: On a local area network, a computer that
controls access to all or part of the network and its resources, such as
printers. On the World Wide Web, a computer running Web server software that
responds to HTTP protocol requests. Also called a host.) after you click Send
in a message."
