Outlook 2003 (MAPI) send/receive time

Hi, I use Outlook 2003 with MS. Exchange Server (MAPI) configuration. I'd
want to know, how often does the client poll the Exchange server for search
new email?
Is the same thing using Outlook on rcp over https? If it possible, I'd like
a KB reference.
Thank you very much indeed for your support and have a nice day :)

Sergio,

In a LAN environment, Outlook does not "poll" the Exchange server for new
email. Instead, Outlook and Exchange use UDP notifications. If you are
finding new email appears slowly in the Inbox, then Outlook may not be able
to use UDP and instead fall back to the polling mechanism you reference. If
Outlook falls back to Polling, then new email takes about 60 seconds to
appear in the Inbox.

Now, for RPC/HTTP connections, Outlook 2003 always uses Polling. There is no
way to use UDP notifications in this context.

Hope this helps.
