Outlook 2003 Lockup

Outlook Lockup

Does anyone know why Outlook 2003 would lock up for no
real reason? I installed a virgin copy, load Outlook,
close it (but it's icon stays in the Notification Bar).
Clicking on the icon gets me a message telling me Outlook
is not responding and I should do something with
Exchange. I don't use Exchange. Any ideas?
 
Create a new mail profile and ensure that you do not install an Exchange
service.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Outlook Lockup
