Outlook 2003 Junk Email filter and Symantec Mail Security

Greetings

We are using:
Exchange 2003
Outlook 2003 - non cached mode.
Symantec Mail Security 5.0 (no premium features)

Outlook Junk email was working fine. It was catching junk email although it
was not in cached mode! We added a few new rules to the symantec product, a
very routine procedure. Our symantec rules are very specific, allowing quite
a large amount of junk email into our systems. Any mail that would normally
have been caught by the outlook junk email is now not being caught, but is
being delivered to the inbox. We have set the outlook filter to high. Still
no effect. We have enabled caching for the outlook accounts, but there is no
effect.

This is enterprise wide and not restricted to a particular user.

Has anyone run into similar issues? Any ideas on how we can go about finding
a solution?

Thanks

Try uninstalling the last Junk Email Filter update (in Add/Remove
Programs -- show updates checked) from MS and then reinstall it. Works for
me.
