Outlook 2003 : Is it possible to copy the membership of a group inthe GAL to a new distribution grou

Q

QH

The user wants to create a new distribution group, based upon the
global address list, but customisable for him alone to remove users
who request they not be on it. Is there any way of exporting the
contents of the GAL to a distribution list in Outlook 2003 or 2007? We
run Exchange 2003 Enterprise.

Thanks,

QH

Start a new message. In the To/CC box, type in the name of the distribution
list. Once it resolves and shows the "+" next to it, click on the "+" to
cause Outlook to expand the distribution list. At this point the user can
copy the names to a DL in his/her contact folder.

Hi. Thanks for the response, but I had already thought of doing it
this way without success. I can expand the GAL DL, and copy the names,
but unless Im missing something it is not possible just to paste them
into a local DL. Once you have created the DL in your contacts, you
click 'add member' where you are prompted to enter the name and
address of each recipient individually. Am I missing something here? I
certainly hope so!

Cheers,

Use the select members button and then paste (ctrl+v) the names into the box
at the bottom of the dialog.
