Outlook 2003, inline images missing

T

I have been using Oulook 2003 for many years and sending inline images with
Word 2003 to edit my messages.
Now, suddenly, when I send inline images the first one is always missing,
just a blank square with a red X. It is missing in my sent folder, and when
I send to myself it is missing in my inbox. (I haven't confirmed that other
people don't receive it yet)

I have done a repair of Office, no good, and a complete uninstall and
reinstall, no good.
I have installed SP3, no good.

Google search doesn't come up with much, except recommending not to use word
2003 as editor.

If I compose message directly from Word 2003 and then send to outbox, all OK
If I compose message in Outlook using Outlooks editor all OK

I think this line of html in the message has something to do with it:-
src="cid:[email protected]">

Any ideas please?

RE Outlook 2003 not displaying inline images

Outlook 2003 Inline Images won’t display

C:\Documents and Settings\aUSER\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK90

You need to open Outlook, open a word doc saved as an attachment in Outlook, choose save as and that will display the location and name of the temporary file store.

It will be OLK** ..the OLK90 folder may not always be called OLK90.

The location of this folder (It’s very well hidden as it turns out that simply changing “show hidden files folders” doesn’t show it !!)

Other info on web forums shows that others went searching through the registry, not necessary
