Outlook 2003 in exchange cache mode does synchronize the delete items folder

S

Sabo, Eric

Leenda,
Thanks for the input on this. Hopefully, Microsoft will come up with
a fix or a solution to this problem. The empty deleted items upon exit
is an important group policy for us.

Terry,
We are experiencing this same problem. We have added our policies one at
a time to determine which policy is causing this issue and we have narrowed
it down to the Empty Deleted Items folder upon Exit setting. With that
policy checked, recovered deleted items will not appear in the Deleted Items
folder while in cached mode. Yet, if we just check the option on the client
with the policy off, we do not have this problem.

Hi Sabo,

I have performed some tests on this issue. Once, I enable the option on the
client computer, I cannot reproduce this issue, so I believe it sould be
related to GP. In addition, you may recheck the issue by enabling the
option on the client without applying GP.

I will report this issue to our DEV team for further analyziz. If you have
any suggestions or feedback on our products, please submit them on the
following website: http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

Have a nice day!

Terry,

I am experiencing the exact same problems as Sabo. The deleted items
folder does not synchronize. I am also using the "Disable Empty
Deleted Items Folder", and like Sabo, I would like to keep this
setting.

Could you please keep me informed if your DEV team finds any sollution
to this problem?

BTW: In order to get arround this problem, I disabled my Cached
Exchange Mode. The result of this was that the synchronization of the
deleted items was working, BUT the Junk E-mail filter stopped
working!?

Regarding the Junk E-mail filter, we recommend enable Cached Exchange Mode
to enhance its performance. Again, thank you for your understanding and
patience on this issue. I will keep you all updaing when having any
progresses.

Have a nice day!

HI Eric,

I have been monitoring your thread and internal SRX case for this issue. I
am happy to hear that the HoitFix has been created and appears to have
resolved your issue for deleted items synchronization.

As such it appears that we are ready to close this thread.

We are extremely happy that you chose to use the newsgroups as your initial
point of contact on this issue and will continue to do so in the future.

Have a great week!
