Outlook 2003 hangup freeze

I sent someone a file with a large attachment - 12 Mb - and I think it got
bounced back by their isp.

It shows up in my inbox as an even bigger file - 17 Mb - but I can't delete
it or do anything in outlook now.

The message in my inbox is entitled
(e-mail address removed) Failure Notice but when I try to delete it
Outlook just hangs.

How do I correct this problem?

Already figured out my problem by the temporary files created -
outlook.exe.mdmp and appcompat.txt.

I ran outlook in the safe mode (run outlook.exe /safe) and it let me delete
the file.
