Full subject:
Outlook 2003 SP2 build v11.80.10.8107 now hangs when replying to mail from
Yahoo Groups after installing Internet Explorer 7.

The subject says it all really.
Since installing IE7 I have noticed that when replying to mail from Yahoo
Groups, which is collected by Outlook from my Hotmail account, that Outlook
hangs.
The crash cannot be recovered from, have to use task manager to end task.
Sometimes the response is saved ( incomplete ) as a draft.
I know this is down to installing IE7, as I've been using Oulook to read
Hotmail for years with no problem. Nothing else on the computer has been
changed except for installing IE7.

I think it has something to do with typing into the reply live, and possibly
with line lengths. I know that sounds crazy!
If I compose the reply in EditPad Lite which limits line length to 93
characters and copy > paste into the Outlook reply then all is well, no
problem.
I haven't tested with NotePad or WordPad.

Any ideas??

Paul.

No error messages when the initial hang occurs.
When ending the task there is the usual "Send error report" opportunity.
I have sent a few of these, but haven't reviewed the contents.

I'll try an Office repair.

Strange thing is that it doesn't appear to happen with every email, just
certain ones.
I've noticed another clue:
The text in the reply which is normally blue will change to black after so
many lines.
The text already input stays blue but any new text has the font colour
changed to black as if it was a new mail.
I think the number of lines is consistent as well, I'll count them next time
it happens.

Thanks for your input.

Paul.
