Outlook 2003 Error Message

I want to use Outlook using a POP3 connection. However, when I start it, the
following message appears: "The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server
is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.
There are four email accounts in Outlook but I can only send/receive from
one of them, which is the default account.

Should I delete the Microsoft Exchange Server account? What do I need to do
to be able able to use the the other two POP3 accounts?

I tried deleting the exchange account but I still get the same error that
Exchange isn't connected.
